I was trying to think of something to give my husband for our 10th anniversary and decided on spending an evening on the Far Niente. We had the most wonderful and memorable evening. Our hosts were just perfect! We had wonderful and engaging conversations and also some needed quiet time on the water. Now I can tell all my friends of this wonderful way to get out and see our beautiful city from a whole different perspective. Mahalo Dick and Judi for a great evening.

5 star-plus voyage - we could not have asked for better. The evening reminded us of our days of sailing on our local waters with old friends. We immediately felt at home and at ease with Derek and Judi. The atmosphere, scenery with beautiful sunset was great. The food and wine were excellent too. What a perfect start to our Seattle / Alaska vacation. We will do the trip again without hesitation on our next visit to Seattle.

So there I was, trying to plan a surprise weekend for my wife and I to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary! What better way then to spend it upon the water with "FAR NIENTE". For those of you wondering its meaning: it is Italian - meaning is "pleasant idleness" - literally: sweet doing nothing. What a pefect name! Derek and Judi really went out of their way to help me in planning this. Weather perfect, waters great, wind blowing- and off we went. I, having learned how to sail 20 years ago and not having time to be out much in the past was really excited for this day. Derek and Judi are so cool. They have a way of really making you feel so at home with them. The meal they provided was beautifully prepared and the wine was a perfect match. Seattle needs this and everyone in Seattle, either a local or a visiting family member or friend should not pass this up. Vicky and I wil return and we look forward to a continued relationship with them. Thank you again--- I Ieave you with this poem by Walt Whitman -- Heave the anchor short! Raise main-sail and jib--steer forth, O little white-hull'd sloop, now speed on really deep waters, (I will not call it our concluding voyage, But outset and sure entrance to the truest, best, maturest;) Depart, depart from solid earth--no more returning to these shores, Now on for aye our infinite free venture wending, Spurning all yet tried ports, seas, hawsers, densities, gravitation, Sail out for good, eidolon yacht of me!
